BREA’s Family Support Services are designed to help immigrant families navigate the emotional and relational challenges that often come with starting a new life in Canada.
Our services provide a safe, inclusive space for families to address concerns related to
cultural adjustment, parenting, family dynamics, and relationships — all through an
approach rooted in emotional education and cultural understanding.
Counseling & Emotional Support
- One-on-one and family counseling provided in collaboration with culturally competent professionals.
- Focus areas: parenting stress, intergenerational conflict, couple relationships, identity challenges, trauma support.
Support Groups & Peer Circles
- Weekly or biweekly group sessions for parents, youth, and caregivers
- Topics include: adjusting to Canadian life, maintaining cultural identity, parenting
in a new culture, and emotional wellness - Led by trained facilitators in a welcoming, multilingual environment
Referrals & Case Support
Direct referrals to:
- Mental health professionals
- Family therapists
- Women’s shelters or housing support
- Social assistance and legal services
Personalized assistance connecting families with local and culturally safe services
Workshops & Educational Events
Monthly sessions covering:
- Conflict resolution and communication within families
- Parenting across cultures
- Self-care and mental health awareness
- Navigating child protection and education systems
- Promote healthy family relationships during cultural transition
- Reduce isolation and emotional stress among newcomers
- Connect families with trusted professionals and resources
- Create safe spaces for discussion, learning, and mutual support
