Community Integration & Social Activities
Creating spaces for connection, culture, and belonging
BREA’s Community Integration & Social Activities program is designed to help
immigrant families connect with the broader community through meaningful, engaging,
and inclusive events. By bringing people together across cultures, we foster
understanding, strengthen social bonds, and build a sense of belonging for newcomers
and long-time residents alike.

● Host multicultural festivals, holiday gatherings, and cultural showcases
● Celebrate heritage through music, dance, food, and storytelling
● Promote cross-cultural appreciation and visibility of newcomer communities
● Collaborate with local artists, schools, and cultural groups
Social Gatherings & Family Activities
● Organize seasonal picnics, movie nights, potlucks, and community walks
● Create safe, informal spaces for families to meet and build friendships
● Offer child-friendly activities to encourage full family participation
Language Exchange & Conversation Circles
● Facilitate English conversation groups and language exchange meetups
● Promote both language learning and cultural sharing
● Support confidence-building in communication for adults and youth
Volunteer Opportunities
● Encourage immigrant families to get involved through volunteering
● Offer leadership roles for newcomers in event planning and community projects
